Why are new user registration emails taking so long to arrive?
Hi guys,
I've just spent a lot of time searching through the forum to answer my problem but all the similar queries are only about user not receiving the registration emails completely - not just very very slowly.
My problem is this - although new users receive a registration email with their user name and auto-generated password, it ALWAYS takes approx 10-20 minutes for them to receive it! It also takes about the same amount of time for me as the administrator to receive an email saying a new user has registered.
I understand from previously posts that this could be something to do with the 'mail settings' of my hoster. The problem is, I can't see exactly where or what I should be editing settings wise to resolve this issue.
It is a major problem as approx 80% of new users appear to give up after registering and don't submit an advert.
