When a user claims a listing they need to re-check all the category boxes again?

Hi all, I have noticed in the new release that when a user goes to claim a listing and they go through the process they have to check all the categories again that the listing belongs too even if this was previously done before the claim. My site is a free site and therefore this is very time consuming considering I have already imported the listings into the correct category. Is this a bug? It is obviously not a nice experience for the end user here.

Any ideas on a fix for this? Thanks in advance as this is a big issue on my site right now.
