Listing Author Contact Form?

I'm sure this is something I'm overlooking, but how come the author contact button/form isn't showing up on new individual listings (per the widget) - but, DOES appear on the default listing that comes pre-populated with the theme. (Sprinkles Cupcakes)

In other words, when I create a new test listing - and include the author contact widget in the sidebar - include an email address with the listing - no form appears in the widget along with the author info (link works to author page) - but on the default listing, the form appears and works perfectly. I'm sure this isn't a bug - I just can't figure out what i'm missing. Thanks so much!
