Next I want to add social media functions / style to users dashboard so users can have the look and feel of a Facebook type news feeds, and add an email blast function so subscribers can instantly email their rate blasts to everyone who request to receive rate blasts...

My goal is to not be just a freight matching website, but rather a freight matching community... The "Facebook" of the transportation community would be nice... More than just a loadboard...

Fabulous. You might just want to remove the branded photos - or buy them. Not being rude, but if you are going to let the public view your site, you don't want istock to find out you are using photos from their site improperly. Check out somewhere like sxc.hu or photoxpress for free photos you can use.
