Still Tweaking, but impressed and getting there.

Hi all, just built an Equestrian Classifieds section into my reasonably successful Local Riding site. Had tried it before using the 68 Classifieds script but found it too cumbersome and overly complicated. Love the fact Classipress is built on WP, which I'm reasonably familiar with.

My main aim was to ensure the look and feel matched the main site and I think I've managed that by making a few simple adjustments to the Green theme CSS files and tweaking a few other files here and there, nothing too drastic required.

Really like the rating system Dirtbag uses on his Dublin site, so will be looking at how I can use that and will be working out how to move the 'Welcome Visitor login / register' to the sidebar and creating some custom forms for some sections when I get time.

I think the site demonstrates how the Classipress themes can be made to fit whatever look and feel you want.

My main site is quite popular with about 1200 uniques a day and I'm already getting a reasonable level of interest in the classifieds after just a couple of weeks. Will be monitoring how well the classifieds posts do in the SE's and what direct traffic they bring in.

    Anyway, hope you like it.

    Thanks for sharing!

Congrats on the traffic numbers, hopefully you will see those numbers climb. Someone posted that 3.0 has better SEO appeal, we shall see.

That looks great! I love your tagline "The community for old nags young filly's and the odd stud". Awesome

Looks good! My only gripe (in general) is the fonts used for some of the headings ("Category" etc.). But, that is a general gripe, not one to do with your site specifically

I think I agree with you bluecafe, and I use the 2 column layout in the blog and stores. Might just have a mess around with my CSS and tweak the main site to make it a little cleaner and less busy.

First though, I'm looking at the best way to build Classipress into my Antique Marks and True Beauty Tips sites. That's where my main traffic and money is.

Let you know how I get on.

    Hi,

I'm very impressed with your site layout, looks great!

I've been trying to change few things around, but find it time consuming finding what's where. How did you edit the "Post an Ad" button and added extra menu items?

    Thanks
    Richard

Good site. About your tag line: the plural for Filly is Fillies and not Filly's.

Hi Debs - Your site looks great and congratulations on your tweaks to get it to look like your main site. I'm doing the same but haven't yet finished.

I wondered whether you can share how you moved the Register / Login from the top to the sidebar? I'd like to do the same. Also did you do it as a widget so you can control the rest of the sidebar as widgets?

    Cheers, Rob

Hi, checked your site. It looks great! I love the grass background and the "green" scenery.
How do you get the background changed to the grass background? Can I ask you that?
