ultimate slider

I recently bought this slider and installed it on my website. my steps,
purchased the plugin, downloaded it, uploaded it, set my api key updated it, went to apperances, editor, went to my theme, clicked on tpl-ads-home.php
removed this line of code:<?php get_template_part( 'featured' ); ?>

re entered <?php if (function_exists('tb_slider_ultimate')) tb_slider_ultimate();
else get_template_part( 'featured' ); ?>

in its place

updated,

went to website an is still showing same, small featured slider.

Did i do any thing wrong because its not working.
