Contact Ad Owner - Email subject extraneous characters

When sending an email via "contact ad owner", the subject has characters like “ where a quotation mark should be.

Any idea why?

Not sure what that could be. Are you putting english in the subject or another language? It might be unicode related.

Actually I had an e-mail for one of my ads yesterday which has the same characters in it:

I didn't think anything of it to be honest, but just wanted to let you know I have the same thing.

To add again, the same person also e-mailed me about another ad via the contact link, and this time it didn't have the extra characters in it..
