    IE 7 Render

    Hi Cpress comunitty,

We are having a very strange issue with the render of our site in explorer 7, and is a very strange one, because it happends when you tray to make a fast scroll, or select text from the page... it starts to be "blanked" with its container bg color. The most interesting thing is that the site works properly in most browsers, event in IE 6.
Take a look using IE7 at: http://www.latinrhino.com/preguntas-frecuentes/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and try fast scrolling or text select.

Any help or advice will be very appreciated

    Re: IE 7 Render

I have explained this a few times with IE7. The problem is with the java used to bring down the posting forms. The javascript causes some errors with IE7 that makes the pages not appear or blank in and out. There isn't a way to fix this at the moment just have to live with it.

Another post where i talked about the issue: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=916

I wonder if we could dedicate a page to the posting form and just link to it.

Maybe copy the post-form code into a custom page template. Create a page called Post A Classified or whatever and assign it the custom page template with the post-form code.

Probably would need to know wutcha looking at in the post-form code. And also, then the call for post-form could be removed from the index or header (i forget which).

Plus changing the "Post A Classified" link to link to the newly created page.

This is possable, mostly it would take just copying the posting form to a template page.

Wow itīs just incredible what you say "You have to live with it" There are some questions I would like to be answered by dcowgill , the theme creator:

    1. Why does it works properly in the demo web site?
    2. Is there an option to make the form without using the problematic java?
    3. Is possible to sell a professional theme with that kind of bug for the most used world wide browser?
    4. What is supposed I can tell to my client about this issue?

Iīll really apreciate your answers and the way to try to find a possible solution.

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: IE 7 Render

Most of the time, Living with it isnt a problem has to most its no big deal. I have worked with classipress for over a year now and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, just depends on the circumstances.

I know you may not care, but here are my answers.

1: The java works all depending on what server, host, ext, ext, ext the user is using. I have worked with people that the theme worked fine in IE7, others it hasn't.
    2: Well yes always.
3: Apparently so, every theme has bugs. most are with IE7 (though i still like IE7 and use it for my main browser)
4: If you have clients then i would suspect that being a professional you will either come up with a solution, or figure out what to tell your client, compromise is always a part of doing web design professionally. There is always another option other than "it cant be done" When i said you have to live with it (yes i hsould have re worded it), i didnt say there isnt anyting to be done. there isnt a way to fix the problem, however there are a few ways around the problem.

Also on another note. dcowgill is pretty busy most of the time. There are others here that are just as suited to find a fix or solution to your problems. and yes i know that dcowgill is the theme creater, i been here a while.

That is my question too? The demo site works perfectly so why would are sites not work than too? I checked many other sites in the showcase section and many have the same issue when using I.E 7. The post are fine, but the pages do not work well at all though.

    Thanks,

    Chad
