Post Post classifieds not working on many computers

I've just started my first classifieds website. Advertised it... and all I get is calls from people who can't post their classifieds. They register, the press Post classified and nothing happens. I did some experiments. Used different OS, browsers and browser settings. Outcome: browser safety settings break WP ClassiPress, especially in companies. This is not something we should "learn to live with". We should deal with it.

My suggestion: get rid of the fancy sliding post-form. As pretty as it is, it sucks. Why not use a page template for that? Just like we use page templates for dahsboard and editing ads.

It's not a problem with my installation or hosting settings. I tried many classipress websites, even the classipress demo. All of them have the same annoying bug.

I agree that a regular template file, rather than the fancy slidiness would be much better. Then it'd be easier to add links to the "Post an Ad" form/page from anywhere on the site.

What version of CP are you using? I remember there were issues for some people with the pop-up ad submit form when it first came out, but it was since returned to a standard form in the update which followed.

Ok, I don't think it was ever pinpointed as to why it worked for some and not others, so it was changed back very soon afterwards (as I remember installing the latest version to go back to the ad form old style). Although I don't think the version number actually changed from v2.9.2? Sorry my memory is sketchy.. There are a number of threads here about problems with the post a classified button from back when the new feature was released anyway..

If you look at the Demo it is the non-pop-up version http://wpclassipress.com/demo/ so perhaps it might pay to download the latest release if you happen to have installed the one before.

I hope I have understood your issue correctly anyway.. I'm not sure without knowing your site URL.

    The problem is pretty obvious.

I've installed the latest ClassiPress version (2.9.2).

When I raise secuity level in Internet Explorer, the 'Post a classified' button does not work: the ad-form does not show up.

I've tested this on a couple of computers now. You could test it yourself. Because many companies use the hing level security in Internet Explorer, many people can't post ads.

A solution would be to put the ad-form in a page template. SInce the edit ad page DOES work when security levels are high.

Version 3.0 will be using a page template instead of a slider.
