create a template with exclusive header and footer

Hi, I've been trying to create landing page as home page in Vantage theme.
I created and deleted code in the template using index.php.
This is not the first that I created a custom template but, after select the template that I created for home, still showing up header(menu, logo etc..) and footer..
Besides, the index.php looks different structure than other theme. can't see <?php get_header; ?> something like this..
How can I create a template with exclusive header and footer etc..? I want to design some different layout for home, because it's a landing page..
