Event Pages - Comments PLUS Reviews

Odd question I know but I am wanting to have Comments and Reviews on my Events pages. I plan to keep the events active (they're recurring-type events) hence the reviews and then plan to re-purpose the comments section. I could probably install another 'reviews plugin' but I would like it to fall in line with the current Vantage/
WP Admin menus. I think how appthemes have merged these two already (listings-reviews, events-comments, comments=both) is pretty neat.
Has anyone achieved something similar? Any ideas on where to start?
