Need help styling the header pls

Hello,

Could you pls help me figure out how to make small tweaks to the style of the vantage theme..I am trying to maximize the space (header, search and categories) so that the user wont need to scroll immediately after logging to the site... right now, there is a lot of padding around the header + search boxes, as well as the category boxes.... I would like to condense that as much as possible

i am looking for the code to make the following changes:

1) delete space between the picture in the header and the search box
2) Get rid of "near" search box
3) Move the "search for" box into the header space, the upper right corner...

Could you pls help me figure out how to accomplish these changes?
