New Payments API for AppThemes

Having read the following blog post about the upcoming new Payments API for AppThemes I am cautiously excited:

According to the Migration Schedule in the above post this API will see its first light of day in Vantage in August 2012, although the following quote from the post is confusing: "If you’ve already been using Vantage, you’ve already seen Payments at work".

Can anyone confirm if the new Payments API is present in the current release of Vantage?

Another quote pulled from the post states: "The complete source code of Payments is documented to make it easy for developers to find out what different parts do, and then leverage those parts to make awesome plugins".

Any ideas of the "awesome plugins" we can make?

We're holding out to see what changes will be in the next version of CP 3.2 and our hope is that we can create our own custom post type, along with custom tags and custom fields generated by the absolutely superb Advanced Custom Fields plugin (not to be confused with the similarly named plugin in the AppThemes' Marketplace):

This is by far one of the most useful WP plugins I have come across over the past few years, and well crafted too, not to mention brilliantly supported.
