PLease Help me - Few Problems / Questions.

Hello i recently started using Vantage and still having some problems figuring a few things out.

1) I dont have the events tab in my settings, maybe there was a problem with the installation? i have added over 7000 categories and i am scared to re-install, is there anyway to fix the problem with me not having events ?

2) Is it possible to display the Google Map by location? for example if i am in New York the map is only showing businesses around me "like nearby places in facebook" rather than a world map of all businesses listed ?

3) Since i have many categories the drop down category box has become very long, so i had to remove the sub category views, however i would like to by clicking on one of the main categories to be taken to a page where it shows all my sub categories to that main category, rather than listings within that category, is it possible? what is the link/id/or class for each sub category heading, i might need to edit it manually? i need a hotlink that takes you to view each Parent categories sub categories.

4) How do i make Login/Register on 1 page?

5) I heard about child theme, but in the tutorial i have only seen a creation of style.css and uploading it, nothing more. Do i need to upload the whole theme and edit it there? do i need to do anything else?

All the help is very appreciated, and if any of these are hard to do, i might require to hire some help, so please get back to me.
