URL Search & Search using Custom Fields

Hi,

I know this has been discussed a thousand times, but…

I want to appeal to the developers at AppThemes to speed up the ability to search by custom fields.

As you can see from numerous post and also comments on your blog articles, searching by custom field is very much requested and I believe holds off potential buyers of the theme.

I have tried numerous directory and similar real estate themes and I must say that the theme is awesome! I installed it for a local directory and it is perfect since they don’t need lots of searching.

However, it is very hard to use Vantage for a GLOBAL specialty site. What I have in mind, is a site with approx 4000 total listings. 4 basic “Sections” or categories. Hotels, Restaurants, Attractions, Places of Worship. Each has custom fields (which are SUPER easy to setup with the form builder). Example, Restaurants have a field called “Cuisine”, “Price ($, $$, $$$, $$$$). What I must have is the ability to search custom fields either with a search widget, or even only VIA URL SEARCH, as in this example:

So my questions are…

1. Can we now search I the Vantage theme via URL search?
2. Any update in the time frame on when searching by custom field will be available?
