Thread: Only 4 days until Vantage is released!!

For what it's worth, we're roughly 40% done on a premium child theme for Vantage we should bring it the same look and feel as our Prima Child theme for JobRoller - that way, you'll have network-wide consistency, with your brand staying in tact... I'll get around to posting a screenshot (most likely in a new thread) about our endeavours...

YAY!! Almost scared me as there was no email saying Vantage is now available, but it was in my account when I looked

If you had to estimate, when do you think you'll be done with this new Vantage Child Theme? Also seeing as Vantage is still very early in terms of current features, as AppThemes updates it, how will that affect the theme? Will updates be included with the purchase of the theme or will we have to buy each new subsequent version that gets made to be compatible with whichever current version of Vantage?

This child theme would work perfectly for what I already planned to do with Vantage.

Thanks for all the questions...

Rough guestimate would be 2-3 weeks (hopefully sooner, but a lot depends on the amount of custom modification projects we receive in the meantime - which is our core focus). As for updates, all of our other themes & plugins for Appthemes to date have run on a free lifetime upgrade policy: Advantage will be the same in this regard. Bare in mind that as soon as Vantage gets updated, we work as fast as possible (resources depending) on upgrading our theme(s) for compatibility purposes. To that end, we mostly stick to front end modifications as this ensures a more future-proof theme.

The idea behind Advantage is to bring it in line with our Prima Child theme for JobRoller - at some stage in the future, we'd also like to do a Classipress child theme with the same look & feel as Prima and Advantage. This way, the user could have a network of websites with a consistent branding across all their Appthemes installations instead of things looking rather haphazard and uncoordinated.

Thanks for the quick reply. I completely agree with you with the whole idea of consistent branding, that is a great idea because I'm sure people are going to be making site networks and having design uniformity will be essential. Seeing as you are creating consistent branded themes, you might want to consider a plugin of some sort that creates a site network bar with logos for each site - similar to CollegeHumor.com and I'm sure people would pay for it separately.

Yeah 2-3 weeks isn't bad at all. I think you'll end up liking the site that I'm making because it might be something that tinygiantstudios would use. Right now I'll just be testing out Vantage as is but once I buy your new theme, I should be able to launch within a few weeks.
