Sharing data between two wordpress installs

    http://justintadlock.com/archives/20...the-same-users

I'm working on a site that shares the same data pretty much between the two and I at least have the user database being covered with the above link, but I was wondering, how can I define using other data across the board (like custom post types). Anyone have links to examples of this being done? Just makes better sense to not bog down the database with twice the same information. I would give a better example of what I'm trying to do but I just need to know where to begin.
