I think I'll pause on that because:

    - I like not having this forum account associated with my sites.
    - There doesn't seem to be any editing function allowed on these forums, which I think deters many people from feeling free to share about their projects, and about anything.

Sure is a good quote tho, fine quote it is

Maybe I'll email you sometime with a real name and some urls and some quoteworthyness.

You're welcome to use "Herb on the forums".

No worries. I'll just put the quote author as, "Herb (from the forums)".

    That works

Now if we can solve the missing "http://" thing then I can launch a new site that will be a perfectly functioning classifieds creation:

    http://appthemes.com/forum/showthrea...nks-still-work

I seem to recall a little code fix for this being offered a while back, maybe with the 2.8 or 2.9 versions, but I was unable to track it down by searching the forums.

As it is I've edited both the tpl-edit-item.php, and also via backend the message showing above the posting form, to display the following:

Important</strong>: must include <strong>http://</strong> within the URL field for your link to work: for example: <strong>http://</strong>www.example.com

Unfortunately humans don't always follow directions, because I have this caption on my currently live site, and everyday people forget to include the http:// and I go in and fix their links because broken links would reflect poorly on the site and would cause unpleasant experiences for visitors as well as ad-posters.

Do you have any thoughts on that one?

It's actually a high priority for me because I'm expecting the next site I'm launching to do ten times the traffic/posts that my current site is doing. And I'd like to avoid fixing broken links every day.

I think you guys should remove all words containing "ad" because i was testing my site on chrome where i have adblock then after some research found out it was from the "ad-right" & "ad-left"

i had a page only with pictures of the item , no description , price , etc ...

Yeah, it's just bad luck with our naming conventions. So we've fixed a couple of these in 3.5.3 but not all. We'll get them all in the next release. Thanks for letting us know.

Nice pic btw. Were you in the service?
