That works
Now if we can solve the missing "http://" thing then I can launch a new site that will be a perfectly functioning classifieds creation:
http://appthemes.com/forum/showthrea...nks-still-work
I seem to recall a little code fix for this being offered a while back, maybe with the 2.8 or 2.9 versions, but I was unable to track it down by searching the forums.
As it is I've edited both the tpl-edit-item.php, and also via backend the message showing above the posting form, to display the following:
Important</strong>: must include <strong>http://</strong> within the URL field for your link to work: for example: <strong>http://</strong>
www.example.com
Unfortunately humans don't always follow directions, because I have this caption on my currently live site, and everyday people forget to include the http:// and I go in and fix their links because broken links would reflect poorly on the site and would cause unpleasant experiences for visitors as well as ad-posters.
Do you have any thoughts on that one?
It's actually a high priority for me because I'm expecting the next site I'm launching to do ten times the traffic/posts that my current site is doing. And I'd like to avoid fixing broken links every day.
