Hello,

i want to make a real estate classifieds site for a customer. The plan is to make a site for holiday homes rental/buying and for land buying, investments and companies.

The most important goal of the site is that Peolpe must be able to add paid listings so to add their holday home for rent or sale or other property for sale for a fee.

On the one hand a real estate cms such as Open Realty would be more suitable for this type of site but i have looked into it and open realty is not alltogether good for a real estate classiefieds type of site, it is more suitable for a real estate listing site. There are payment options (addons) possible but not many.

This is one of the reasons i think i might choose ClassiPress, also because i am more familiar with Wordpress and because the search engines love WP.

My question is: Is it possible to integrate an advanced search option into the Classified press site. I know this is not really easy with wordpress sites. The listings should be at least searchable atproperty type (categories??), country, town, and min price, max price

It would be nice if country and town searching option would be chained (intelligent chain selection) meaning that if sombody chooses a certain country only the cities for that country are shown if they have listings.

I am even willing to pay somebody for a and working advanced search option suitable for this

I have seen a customized location filter implemented in a previous version of ClassiPress (although I cannot recall the URL at this time)..

Definitely something you would want to refer to an experienced coder for comment though. I will move your topic to that thread also so they can have an outline of what you're trying to achieve.

A picture tells more than a thousand words so this is what i want to get: A search option like in

IF you check the search option below the header, you will see that when you select a country, the dropdown box "kies een gebied" (choose an area) wil automatically change to only show the areas for that country for selection options. The countries and area select boxes are chained fields.
So if yo choose germany as country you will only get area's in germany. When you choose Turkey you will only get Turkeys area's etc.

I want a search option where i can insert and add my own search fields and change the values in select boxes by myself.
The countries and area's are chained and should of course have to be grabbed from the database so they show only the countries and area's of existing entries that belong together.

So a new listing from a new country adds this new country as option in the first select box and the area in this country where the listing is located will be automatically linked from the database in the second select (choose an area).

If this is impossible i will install the excellent WP custom field search plugin from Don Benjamin. Because i believe the listings are made in Wordpress posts??

also I need this feature for mysite as well, we can share the price together if its OK with you, I just need to know which files I should change and some advice of course,

is there anyone here who want's to make some money?

I want to make some money, but I won't be able to get to this feature until I finish my current classifieds project. Maybe I'll check in again next week.

Has anyone been able to get the chained fields functionality working with Classispress yet? This is vital for a project I have on the table.
