MOD NEEDED -- Categories on Home Page

Many have posted in the forums about the problem of the way that CP renders the columns in the categories section of the homepage. Currently, it takes the number of categories and divides by 2 or 3 (depending on the selection in the backend) and doesn't care whether categories have sub-cats or not. Our columns are very unappealing and we need to control how many categories end up in each column.

Maybe the best way to make it as subcategories from top menu hover and add links 'View more'. If user click to this link then it opens more subcategories in this category.

You mean do away with the categories section altogether and only use the categories in the main menu?

So you'll able to control wich category will be visible in one of column and how it will looks.
