    POST a PLUGIN TUTORIAL

I would like very much to see a very well documented step-by-step Tutorial on creating CLASSIPRESS 3.0.5.4 plugins.

I would suggest taking some existing Wordpress plugins, including ones that use a javascript instance in the footer, and show how to PORT these plugins over to Classipress taxonomy and functions.

When we switch to Classipress we must leave behind hundreds of very useful modifications created by many talented developers.

Many very useful WordPress functions, too, are disabled and cannot be used to solve problems or extend Classipress.

So many things must be rewritten for Classipress with custom classipress functions to make it work at all.

Classipress, with all of its functionality, is still a very stripped down version of what is offered in the parent Wordpress code.

It would help Classipress itself--particularly in the realm of sales--if the developers would stop trying to develop so many projects simultaneously, and return to focus on the first product, Classipress, and help those of us who have some desire and even desperation to get started with creating Classipress plugins that can return to Classipress the same functionalities that are offered in the root Wordpress 3.1.

Now that you have made the switch to a new ad_cat taxonomy to "take advantage" of the taxonomy changes in Wordpress 3.1 I have yet to see what has become better and more functional.

From this point on out Classipress must really decide how to program this theme to recapture some of the plugin capabilities that are offered to Wordpress in most other special function themes not named Classipress.

I would strongly suggest taking some time NOW and re-engaging the users who have some familiarity with plugin development and give them a well documented guidebook for enhancing the Classipress experience with useful plugins.

We already have the AppThemes knowledge base well under way, so we hope to launch this soon. The content you speak of sounds like a great idea, and for anyone willing to share such a tutorial it would be the perfect place for it.
