Container for homepage content

Hi Raoul,
I have changed the home page of my site topbusinesses.co.uk to include recent reviews (I used the home control plugin to create a new widget area and just added the recent reviews to the new widget area) you can see how it currently looks in picture 1 or on the site itself, it is just text on the blue background and there is no container box like on the listings so it looks really bland. Is it possible to have the content in a white box with the grey outline like on the listings and on the search results pages to make it stand out from the blue background? (pic 2 is a mockup of this to show what I am trying to achieve).
Finally is it also possible to style the sidebar in the same way as listings which have a white background and thin grey border.

Thankyou for taking the time to read this, needless to say I have been on this for some time trying to find a solution but have been unable to solve the problem.
