Adding alt text to the logo and the main banner ad in the header?

Hi all, I am trying to add some Alt text to the logo and the main banner ad in the header of the site that is found on the homepage of the site, but can't seem to locate it anywhere. Where would I add this alt text to these areas of the site? Thanks in advance.
