Change Search to allow Multiple Categories in URL

Hello,

I am looking to modify the Classipress theme to allow search results based on multiple categories. I will only be accessing the multiple categories from a url, ie. the user will not be able select the multiple categories from a drop down or anything.

So I would like to have a url something like www.mysite.com/?s=&scat=15,16,17

This would return all ads from categories 15,16, and 17.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
