Currency Symbol

Ive had a search, and found lots on currency symbols, but nothing that Im after.

Can I mod the code to have the currency symbol before the price, as we have a problem with users adding the £ symbol, then CP adds it and when the ads live we have 2 ££.
I dont mind loosing the tooltip, if its easier to just delete the tooltip code and replace it with the symbol.
