Help Making Max-Min Price on refine slider based on search results for CP 3.2

I have seen a couple posts on this topic, but nothing fully complete that shows how to do this for 3.2.

Basically, I want to remove the "thousands" checkbox that was added 3.2 and simply base the max and min price in the refine slider based on the max min from the search results.

I have one record with a 2.3 million dollar price on my site, and the others are in the 1k to 50k range, so this one record is causing the max price to be 2.3 million even when the results are in a much smaller range. It seems to me this is how the site should work by default....does anyone have a way to do this?
