How to Register Different Users
I have a tricky question for you today! I have installed your great template but I am having some trouble to accomplish what I am looking for.
Give me a second to explain to you what I aiming to create. I am developing a website, with the help of classipress, that will let have two different kind of users, the tutors
will be to add their ads into my website and doing that advertise their business, and the students
people that are willing to increase their knowledge appling to several courses.
To make clear this difference to the end user I would like to develop a registration page for each different user, so one for the tutor and one for the student.
Obviously this difference will not only live in the registration form but also on the kind of profile an user will be able to develop.
A tutor registration form sould have:
- Company Name
- Contact Person
- Phone Number
- And so on...
A student instead will have to add only some personal information and the list of skills it would like to acquire (to use later on to advice courses in their profile page).
Now that I explained my point is time to ask you some questions
- I saw that within your template in the admin dashboard is present a Option Page of yours that will let me, also, customize the form to insert an ad, do you think could I modify that page to help me up on creating the registration forms I told you earlier, or will be only a waste of time?
- Googling around the web I've found this article that's explain how to change a user role in the registration page, once I have defined some custom user roles with the help of User Role Editor Plugin; I have realized that you override the default registration page with the cp_show_register() function. Do you think that the best choice is going to add a coupple of more functions, based on the previous one, to show the registration page upon the registration choice?
I have quite experience with WordPress and PHP but is the first time that I find myseld editing this kind of information on a WordPress platform; so feel free to link at internal, or external, resources because I am willing to improve my knowledge.
Thanks for your time and for your great products!
PS: if I have been not clear I apologize for that, the English is not my native language, but please feel free to ask for clarifications.
