Need plugin or MOD for email verification

I have set classipress options to let users create their password while registering. But now the problem is that once they register they are automatically loged in without any email being sent for email verification and activation link. I need a plugin or MOD so that users can create their own passwords at the same time they require to click an activation link to get approved.
