Securing Your ClassiPress Site
Looking for some feedback from other CP users on what security measures they have taken to protect their website from the hackers and how they have been working out.
As for me I'm not a fan of relying on 3rd party plug-ins. I prefer more the direct approach. So anyways this is my thus far security set-up.
1. I've renamed the prefix to my database tables (I found this guy's tutorial one of the easier ones to follow --->
* 6 Simple Steps to Change Your Table Prefix in Wordpress*by*Tdot – Blog
2. Password protected the
wp-admin directory
3. Use passwords of at least 12 characters in length and change them daily via an apache password generator.
And of course daily backups of the database and any edited files.
So what do you think? Do you see any room for improvement?
Cheers.
