Testing site online - how can I make site private/

hi

I have been developing my site on my local drive and now I want to test it online. I don't want anyone to be able to view it though until it's ready.

I've changed the settings so it's not visible to search engines, but I want to make sure no one can access it right now.

Does anyone know of a simple plugin that will allow me this? Perhaps it has a simple log in page so I can block anyone but me from seeing the site? And can you tell me, after activating it, how I should set it up? (I don't want to block myself from the site!)
