Unable to login to admin - /wp-login results in 404 error
I have a dated client site that I believe is running Classipress v3.1.7.
I am unable to login to the admin cp by any means. Regardless of what I put in, it redirects to
wp-login.php in the address bar, but shows a 404 error message.
Here's what I've tried to get around this;
- reset password
- uploaded a fresh
wp-login.php
- tried to disable all plugins by renaming folders to see if any of those are conflicting
- tried to disable classipress theme by renaming that - just ended up with blank site
- toyed with .htaccess file per some posts I found in this forum
Any help on how to get past this would be appreciated. I feel like I ran into this issue on another install of classipress, but apparently I was still able to get into the cp because I had to install a different login plugin to get around it.. but here I can't.
