Watermarking uploaded photos
Is anyone watermarking uploaded photos?
Perhaps a longer discussion than I wanted to initiate as it gets into who owns what in the very muddy waters of internet law.
If a user uploads a photo to your server, shared or dedicated, ideally that photo becomes property of your domain providing your terms and conditions of usage doesn't say otherwise.
So if you are running copyrights on your website - are you watermarking the photos submitted by users?
I have not done so in the past, however, I am considering doing it with a few new sites that I am launching on 3.0.
Any thoughts on this?
Always treat everyone with respect and courtesy, but trust no one.
