Wordpress Categories vs Classipress Ad Categories

Hi,

Does anyone know how I can relate/point a Wordpress plugin (which adds functionality to Wordpress Categories) to the Classipress Ad Categories. Categories and Ad Categories seem to function in the same way but the Wordpress plugins don't have any effect on the Classipress Ad Categories.

The reason I ask is that there are many Wordpress plugins which work with the Wordpress Categories and I want to use that functionality in the same way but with the Classipress Ad Categories.

Is it as simple as editing the plugin files to point to Ad Categories instead of Categories?
