    Question Why are Classipress ad categories not recognised as Wordpress standard categories?

    I am a little confused what classipress latest version is doing with categories - and why its bucks the existing wordpress categories system. What it has led to is plugins I use, that use categories, not recognizing the ad categories as categories at all. Having two categories sections does seem a little overkill - the previous system was fine as it was - I can see that ads have post_type of ad_listing - but this knowledge isnt helping me solve problem of how different this new categories are, code-wise. Any advice on this? I dont want to tinker with base wordpress files to get this to work.
