registration email to admin works but not to user

the admin email is going out and i recieve it but the user email is not getting delvered. I checked on the server for the email and it is not getting to the mailbox.
i've used 3 or 4 different email addresses and nothign is working.

I have tried using HTML and TEXT email settings in the plug in. I'm not sure what else to try.
and, yes, I have registration activated

Any suggestions to try out? I'm running out of ideas.

I lso do ont get an email when a new item is added.
I'm guessing the plugin is not working.
I'll disable it and see what happens.

OK, Im stuck again. disabled and no email.
So what we have here is it will email to the email address that it is set to send from IE the admin but only tot he admin
When i had set the SMTP it did send from, and had set reply to, and it worked to email the admin.

The email address that is entered on the forms are not getting the email.

this is brutal.

I'd appreciate if someone else could try this.
I use gmail to manage all of my emails so maybe there's somethting happening there.

so for whatever reason, it worked for my wife.
I can't explain it. it wont deliver emails to any of my accounts, even to the one with the same domain as my wife's, which works.

i'm baffelled.
anyways, if I could ask a few of you to register on the site (i'll remove al users anyways later on) I'd greatly appreciate it.
