    Video problems

I am having a problem posting Youtube videos in v2.8.2. I have set the "Allow HTML in Post" option to "Yes" and pasted the embed code from Youtube but nothing shows up in the listing. I can tell that HTML is active because I can create a heading using HTML code. Any suggestions?

Can you give me a link to the specific post you are referring to?

You can see my problem at animalbazaar.com. I have three listings posted. All three have youtube embed codes. The first two were created when logged in as a user and do not show the video. I found that I can show the video if the listing is posted when logged in as administrator (see third ad).

I just submitted a new ad on your site to test but it looks like you have to approve it first. Let me know if the youtube video ended up posting.

    Re: Video problems

What does the post content look like within WP admin? Is the code even in there?

Also, have you made any modifications to your classipress instance?

No embed code. Here is the post from within the admin area using the HTML tab:

    this is just a test

Below is the embedded video code:

Also, I have made no changes to Classipress - I just added the plugins.

    Re: Video problems

That's very strange. I just did a test on the classipress demo site which is exactly the same code and it worked fine.

Have you actually saved your classipress settings page? I just want to make sure you do have the "Allow HTML" option saved there.

Actually I think it might be a permissions issue. Did you try submitting a video as a registered user on your site? If so, make sure your "New User Default Role" is set to "Author" under the WP general settings page. Since unregistered user ads come into WordPress without an author, it doesn't appear to be saving the embed code.

Let me know how that works.

    Re: Video problems

I did a fresh install of Wordpress and Classipress. I posted one ad when logged in as administrator and the embed code was saved properly. When I registered as a user and tried to post an ad the embed code was not saved. Yes, I have saved the classipress settings page and the allow HTML is set to yes. I created an ad with a simple HTML heading and it worked OK. The new user default role is set to Author.
