Limiting access to dashboard

Hi,

At the moment, all new registrations place the user in Role "Contributor", which gives them access to the clipper dashboard (where they can deactivate, activate etc), profile page etc. What i would like to do is create a new Role called "Partner" which uses the EXACT same permissions as "Contributor", i.e. giving them access to everything. After this, i would like to remove access to the clipper frontend dashboard for users in role "Contributor" and also remove their editing rights. So, contributors are able to post new coupons but not edit them, and not have access to the clipper front-end dashboard. This way, i can manualy 'upgrade' users to the role "Partner", giving them access to the dashboard.

I know this can be achieved through a plugin, so i was wondering if there is one you can recommend which will work well with clipper.
