    Vantage + Directory: Can't customize

    I am a BEGINNER, so don't assume I know what you are talking about.

    I installed Vantage according to instructions ... Appearance > Themes > New > Upload > Activate

    I installed Directory, which is a child theme for Vantage according to instructions, which were the same: Appearance > Themes > New > Upload > Activate

    Don't ask me why Directory is installed as a theme. Those were the instructions.

    So now I have two themes. I activate Directory, but I can't customize the colors or upload a logo.
    Then I went back and activated Vantage, and I at least got a logo up, but the color scheme won't change.

    I don't know how to get Directory to function as a child theme for Vantage.
