Ad Previews on home / archive pages wheres the code?

Hi folks.

Does any one know where the code to edit the preview area for each ad is?
I've tried searching the forum - found one user with the same question, no answer.
Found another user same question, old version of the theme - not relevant (didn't answer the question other than 'edit the core code')

I've found the code for the Dashboard page that previews the ads.

I'm looking at adding a 'comment count' to the preview box next to the time listed.

Where is the code / files to do this? I don't mind over writing 'core code' but please can you give direction as to where it is instead of just saying that thanks.
