Cannot edit any coding - why ? Codex

When going to

Appearance > editor > Under any code box no matter where i go - for arguments sake after clicking on editor your first view is of the - ClassiPress: Stylesheet (style.css)

From there you can click on many different things on the right to edit. ....

underneath any code box, i have the following



Documentation: (next to this is a drop down box with options such as ''add_action'' ''define'' etc) next to this is a button saying ''Lookup''

Under this is the following text:

What is going on? Why can i not edit anything is this normal or am i doing something wrong?????
