CCS Multiple file question about speed and management

Hello all

OK i have setted up my Classified site made various mods and changed also the appearance with my CCS preferences.
In order to do that i setted up a Child theme as suggested.
In my style.css file i also have the 2 import lines the following...

@import url("../classipress/style.css");
@import url("../classipress/styles/blue.css");

rest of my css preferences follows here...

So as i understand this configuration has 3 sets of ccs .. two of classipress and one of mine. I know that this adds size and upload time to the client web browser..

Should i combine them all in one CSS file of mine that is small and efficient OR this will ruin the compatibility of my theme with a newer classipress theme update?
In other words.. Which approach should i follow with CSS files in order to obtain maximum efficiency and compatibility?

I hope i have some interesting answers not only from Moderators but from the members of this community also
