    Child theme question

You always say "set up a child theme" so your mods won't be affected by updates. I set up a child theme and it worked fine, except whenever I modded a file inside the "includes" folder and uploaded it to tbe child theme's "includes" folder it didn't change anything. I had to upload it to the original CP's "includes" folder for the mods to show up.

First - why is this? And second, this means mods I made to files inside the "includes" folder will be lost when I update, or is there a way of making the child theme's "includes" folder work properly?

    Thanks
