converting classipress 2.9 posts to 3.5 ads
REPOST: not sure why but this thread was closed yet never solved. So I'll try again.
I've updated from classipress version 2.9 to 3.5.2 and have come to realize that the older version essentially used blog posts as the engine to create the ad listings. The newer version have their own post type to separate ads from blog posts.
So my question is what is the best way to convert the ad listings from 2.9 so they show as ad listings for 3.5? Currently they are being shown as blog posts. I've figured out how to convert them individually in the post editor by changing the post type from "post" to "ad" and it works, but the images are not transferring with the post. Plus this will take forever doing them individually.
Furthermore, there seems to be a way to do it in bulk through the posts page, but then I can't get it to work as it chokes and times out, likely because there are so many posts.
Is there documentation on how to do this? I've seen a few forum posts in reference, but not real solutions called out. Or links to old threads that don't exist anymore.
