custom page

I want to build a custom page and add the carousal plus for example 10 featured listings and another section for recently posted ads, plus a section for popular blog articles. If there an easy way to achieve this through short codes or similar to how widgets work on sidebar?

This is to basically create a custom landing page but using the same template with same header and footer. i just want to change whats in-between. Hopes this helps to clear this request.
