    Disable "required" for State field and make pages (not posts) visible

    Having the State field as required is not handy, when you are entering another country than the United States. How do I disable it?
    I want to have a few extra pages (not posts) visible, because these pages contain a welcome and T&C. I activated Pages in the sidebar, but they aren't there.
