    How to make parent categories non selectable?

    Ok so this is what i am trying to do.

    I have a reuse site where people post offers and wanted listings i have two parent categories offers and wanted then under each i have the areas in which we cover (Cornwall) now i get users just selecting the parent instead of the area so it does not get put in the correct place for others to find. how can i make it so the parent still shows but is not selectable on the listing page?
