    PayPal payments being declined - SSL issue?

    Hi all,
    I have set up my site (for the most part) and have PayPal as my payment processor.
    I am using Hostgator for hosting.
    Problem: When someone tries to pay to publish, they are getting a card declined or unable to process alert.

    Paypal says it is a problem with the buyers card as the payments are showing as declined.
    Bank says the payments are approved.
    So something is being lost in the middle.

    Hostgator provides SSL as far as I can see. Does anyone have any thoughts on this please?
