Plugin Conflict with Classipress 4 - latest version

Hi,
Has anybody had issues with installing a "insert header and footer" type wordpress plugin. I have tried six different plugins with the same result that it conflicts with many of the icon displayed in Classipress. I need to be able to install some script in the header to add chat and support function and can't get anything to work. I even tried installing directly into the header.php area and broke the site - thank goodness for backups.

I'd appreciate any help with this.
