Prevent Double "$$" "££" Currency from being posted

Hi,
New here just purchased classipress i know a far bit about coding but not really from scratch. I have one really annoying problem with classipress which a carnt believe theres no fix on here for?? I searched before posting and people have asked for it back in 2010 but with no success??

The problem is that if somebody lists there item adding a currency symbol it will then double post it on items. Does anyone know how to sort this problem Its a must for me.

Am using classipress: 3.1.5
