Price depends on word count

Hello!

I'm fairly sure this solution will involve more than a snippet, but I need some guidance on where to look. I'm doing a site for a newspaper and the price is based on word count. I added a custom field called "print description" to make things easy (and allow for unlimited description on the web description). Calculating the word count and plugging it in to the word count rate arithmetic is simple enough, but I need to know how I can make use of that value within the Classipress pricing structure.

I'm guessing I need to create a new type of pricing which could be selected in the ad pack that references the word count result. I have help from some coders, but they're not well versed in Wordpress and Classipress is quite extensive for a theme, so I'm not even sure where I need to be looking for these files we need to modify.

So if someone could let me know in broad terms what approach one might take to solving this problem, and what files would be involved, that would be wonderful!
